Hi, I’m MaryAnne, and I’m glad you’re here.

I believe therapy is a space where real change can begin—with curiosity, compassion, and the courage to explore your story. My approach is integrative, drawing from cognitive, narrative, and existential therapies to help you understand the thoughts and beliefs that shape your life, as well as the personal stories you carry—those that empower you, and those that may no longer serve you.

 

But healing isn’t just in our heads—it's in our bodies, too. That’s why I incorporate somatic practices and emotion regulation techniques to help you reconnect with yourself physically and emotionally. Whether it's grounding through the breath, noticing where stress lives in the body, or building tools to ride out difficult feelings, we’ll work together to build awareness, resilience, and calm.

Another key component to my style of therapy is that I’m a solution-focused kind of gal. That means I draw from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help you identify what’s already working, clarify your goals, and build on your existing strengths. Together, we’ll explore the small steps that can lead to big shifts—asking questions like “What’s different when things go even slightly better?” and “How will you know things are changing?” This approach helps us stay focused on your desired future, not just your current problems.

And yes, there’s room for laughter here. Therapy can be hard work, but it doesn’t have to be humorless or grim. I believe that sometimes the best way to lighten a heavy moment is with a well-timed joke, a shared smile, or simply the relief of not taking ourselves too seriously. Though, there are no guarantees you’ll actually think I’m funny or laugh at my jokes.
